I thought we would start this off with a posting of Luke's letter from 10/12/2007.

Hey everybody,

I wanted to let everyone know that Dad and I both ended up with 4 week-long passes (practice rounds and all 4 rounds) to the U.S. Open next June at Torrey Pines in San Diego. So we have 8 altogether and 2 of those are for Dad and I. Which means we have 6 available tickets and we are looking for people that want to go. The week long passes are $400 apiece which seems like a lot, but I actually think it's a pretty good deal for such a major sporting event and it is a 7 day event.

I don't know who would be interested in going, but we will at least put a few of those on hold for Sam, Gar, and Ford for at least a few months because I do believe the uncles should have first priority when it comes to a major championship. Which would leave us with at least 3 available tickets as of right now.

I know my mom and Laurel are interested in going to San Diego that week and I'm not sure if they wanted to watch golf or just go for the vacation. Like I said before, people are more than welcome to come down that week for a vacation if nothing else. The sooner we know who wants to be in SD for golf or whatever, the sooner we could try to make some reservations in the area. There are plenty of places to stay withing 30 to 40 miles of that city, so we should be able to find some decent prices, especially if we are splitting the bills and all.

Just get back to me or my dad and let us know if you are interested, intrigued, or have other commitments that week, or if you know you just won't be able to do it or whatever. Any information will be helpful so we can figure out this ticket situation. We will just sell any leftover tickets, but want to give the option to family first.

I think it's gonna be a blast. San Diego is gorgeous (I was there twice this summer) and aside from going to the tourney, we are probably gonna have a decent amount of free time to hit the beaches, zoo, parks, city, go golfing, etc.... whatever people are interested in.
