OK, so I am committing to doing some sort of work on this site at atleast once per day, even if it is something little, and even if I change it back the next day. There is a whole lot of work to be done.
For example, how is the greenish layout? I think it's kinda meh... but you are stuck with it until tomorrow.

Matthew... Convert your robot logo to a GIF89 with a transparent background. We will use in on the upper left in the color bar as a logo...

OK, I painstakingly cut all the background from this GIF and it still has a white glow around it when I upload it. If I play with it here in Photoshop and put a green background layer behind it, it looks great...
*sigh, going to try TIF or PNG maybe...

You have to use a gif89 program that lets you select a transparent background color.

That's exactly what I was doing, and the background is transparent, I left the logo up so you could see what I'm talking about. The white outline is not present when I work on it in photshop.
